I enjoyed this! Have you used the term “doctrine” with a software development team? Have you explicitly defined doctrine with them?
In one team, we had what I would call a “doctrine” without ever using the term. I’m trying to be more explicit, and I find that starting with the idea of “values” is a good way into these ideas. Get a team to explicitly reflect on what they value.
